Websites for Improving LSRW

Listening Skill

Listening is a primary learning skill. It is what is known as responsiveness or latent skill because it expects us to use our ears and our minds to understand; as we are told or addressed. Listening is essential for a very fundamental and most useful and powerful skill needed to effectively understand and correlate essential and basic things. Without the ability to listen adequately, understanding is fundamentally flawed. Subsequently, the correlation separates and understanding emerges without much of a stretch and the student is confused.

Websites for improving Writing Skill

1)HEMINGWAY APP

Ernest Hemingway was an American writer known for his simple and direct writing style. He wrote with limited adverbs and short sentences. The Hemingway app makes your writing bold and clear. This app highlights long and complex sentences and common mistakes. This is a great practice style, especially for business and professional English, as it is important to be able to easily explain complex ideas. This is the central idea behind the Hemingway Editor. It provides suggestions on how to improve the text.
Hemingway Editor is perfect for general "style" purposes. It helps make your writing feel less complex and cluttered. It provides scores and suggestions on how to improve text clarity, active / passive voice, text readability, and more. Everything is color coded so you can easily see what needs to be updated.

Grammarly is a free website and app for correcting your writing.
It is like a personal editor for reading English text. Corrections are always offered as suggestions rather than automatic corrections, giving you the opportunity to review errors before fixing them. Grammarly recommends it for intermediate to advanced writers. This is because the app attempts to correct mistakes native speaker writers make and is not specifically designed for English learners.

For example, native speakers use Grammarly to look for common mistakes like: Missing apostrophes in abbreviations or too many passives. Suggestions can be made if the word is used multiple times, and a plagiarism database check can also be performed. If you are new to ESL authoring, you may find this feedback helpful. However, feedback on word choice, format, structure, and topic questions or essay questions may be more helpful.
